Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that fall within the aims and scope of JETMUA – Journal of Emerging Technologies and Multidisciplinary Applications. JETMUA publishes high-quality research on emerging technologies and their development, evaluation, implementation, and multidisciplinary applications.
All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their relevance to the journal's scope, originality, scientific contribution, methodological rigor, and compliance with editorial requirements. Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are submitted to a double-anonymous peer-review process.
Authors should carefully review the following requirements before submitting a manuscript. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction before editorial evaluation or peer review.

1. TYPES OF MANUSCRIPTS
JETMUA currently accepts manuscripts in the following sections:
• Original Research Articles: original and previously unpublished empirical, experimental, computational, quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, technological, engineering, or applied research. This category includes studies proposing, developing, implementing, validating, or evaluating models, algorithms, software systems, intelligent systems, computational methods, architectures, frameworks, prototypes, and other technological solutions.
• Review Articles: critical, narrative, integrative, systematic, scoping, bibliometric, or state-of-the-art reviews, including meta-analyses when applicable. Review manuscripts should provide a substantive synthesis and critical contribution rather than a merely descriptive summary of existing literature.
The manuscript type and methodological approach must be appropriate to the research question, objectives, and scientific contribution of the study.

2. ORIGINALITY AND EXCLUSIVE SUBMISSION
Manuscripts submitted to JETMUA must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication by another journal at the time of submission.
Authors are responsible for the originality and integrity of their work and for appropriately acknowledging all sources, data, methods, software, algorithms, code, figures, tables, and other materials used in the manuscript.
Substantial overlap with previously published or simultaneously submitted work must be appropriately disclosed.

3. LANGUAGE
Manuscripts must be submitted in English.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is written in clear, grammatically correct, and academically appropriate English.
Manuscripts whose language substantially interferes with scientific evaluation may be returned to the authors for language revision before peer review.

4. MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION AND STRUCTURE
Manuscripts should be organized in a clear, coherent, and scientifically rigorous manner. The specific structure may vary according to the nature of the research, and authors should use headings and subheadings appropriate to their methodological and disciplinary approach.

For technological or computational studies, the abstract should clearly identify the proposed technological, methodological, or computational contribution and summarize the principal evaluation results.
The abstract should be understandable without requiring consultation of the full manuscript.

6. KEYWORDS
Authors must provide between 4 and 6 keywords that accurately represent the main topics, methods, technologies, concepts, or application areas addressed in the manuscript.
Keywords should be sufficiently specific to facilitate indexing, retrieval, and discoverability of the article.

7. FIGURES, TABLES, EQUATIONS, AND TECHNICAL MATERIAL
Figures and tables must be relevant to the manuscript, numbered consecutively, appropriately cited in the text, and accompanied by clear and descriptive captions.
Figures, diagrams, model architectures, workflows, system architectures, and other graphical materials should be of sufficient quality and resolution for scientific evaluation and publication.
Equations, mathematical notation, algorithms, and technical symbols should be presented clearly and consistently.
Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for copyrighted figures, tables, images, datasets, or other materials reproduced or adapted from previously published sources.

8. REFERENCES AND CITATIONS
At initial submission, JETMUA accepts manuscripts using either APA 7th edition or IEEE citation style, provided that the selected style is applied consistently throughout the manuscript.
Authors must ensure that all citations correspond accurately to entries in the reference list and that bibliographic information is complete and correct.
Authors should prioritize relevant, current, peer-reviewed, and high-quality scholarly literature while also citing foundational works when scientifically justified.

For accepted manuscripts, JETMUA may require authors to adapt references and citations to the journal's final editorial style during copyediting or production.

9. RESEARCH ETHICS
Research involving human participants, personal data, animals, sensitive information, or other ethically regulated procedures must comply with applicable ethical principles and institutional, national, and international requirements.
When applicable, manuscripts must report approval from the relevant ethics committee, institutional review board, or equivalent body, as well as the procedures used to obtain informed consent.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all ethical requirements applicable to their research have been fulfilled.
Research involving personal, biometric, medical, behavioral, educational, or other sensitive data must adequately address privacy, confidentiality, data protection, and ethical use of information.

10. AUTHORSHIP AND CONTRIBUTIONS
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, development, or writing of the research.
All listed authors must approve the submitted version of the manuscript and agree to its submission to JETMUA.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria and have approved the submitted version.
Individuals who do not meet authorship criteria should not be listed as authors.
Authors may be required to describe individual contributions to the work during the editorial process.

ORCID iD Requirement
All authors are required to provide a valid ORCID iD as part of the submission metadata. The submitting author must authenticate and connect their ORCID iD through JETMUA's ORCID integration. ORCID iDs for co-authors should also be entered accurately in the contributor metadata. ORCID identifiers must not appear in the anonymized manuscript submitted for peer review.

11. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, commercial, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, its interpretation, or its presentation.
If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should explicitly state this in the manuscript.

12. FUNDING
Authors must disclose all sources of financial support related to the research.
When applicable, the name of the funding organization and the corresponding grant, project, or award number should be provided.
If the research received no external funding, authors should indicate this where appropriate.

For computational, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, and data science studies, authors are particularly encouraged to provide source code and relevant reproducibility materials through a persistent public repository when possible.
The manuscript should provide the repository link or persistent identifier when such materials are publicly available.
When data, code, or other materials cannot be publicly shared because of ethical, legal, privacy, security, intellectual property, contractual, or other legitimate restrictions, authors should clearly explain the restriction.
The absence of publicly available code or data does not automatically prevent consideration of a manuscript when legitimate restrictions exist.

14. USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS
Authors must disclose any substantive use of generative artificial intelligence or other artificial intelligence tools when such tools have materially contributed to manuscript preparation, data analysis, programming or coding, image generation, translation, literature-related activities, or other research processes.
Artificial intelligence systems or tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for the work.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, validity, citations, interpretation, and scientific content of all material submitted to JETMUA.
Authors are responsible for verifying AI-generated or AI-assisted content, including factual statements, references, code, analyses, and interpretations.
The use of artificial intelligence tools does not replace the authors' responsibility for critical scientific judgment, verification, transparency, and accountability.

15. DOUBLE-ANONYMOUS PEER REVIEW
JETMUA uses a double-anonymous peer-review process. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during peer review.
Authors must therefore submit an anonymized manuscript.
The manuscript file should not contain:
• Author names
• Institutional affiliations
• Email addresses
• ORCID identifiers
• Author biographies
• Acknowledgments that reveal author identity
• Repository information that unnecessarily reveals author identity during review
• Other information that could directly identify the authors
Author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, and other contributor information must be entered separately through the OJS submission metadata.
Authors should avoid unnecessary self-identifying statements and should cite their own previous work in a manner that does not unnecessarily disclose their identity during peer review.

16. SIMILARITY, ORIGINALITY, AND PUBLICATION ETHICS
Manuscripts may be screened for similarity and potential plagiarism as part of the editorial process.
JETMUA does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation intended to misrepresent results, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, or other forms of research or publication misconduct.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work complies with recognized principles of research integrity and publication ethics.
Suspected cases of research or publication misconduct may be investigated by the editorial team and may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.
